Services for Mona Rae Shuart of Grass Valley will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at Sierra Memorial Lawn in Nevada City.

Mrs. Shuart died Tuesday, Nov. 26, in Roseville. She was 52.

She was born Nov. 5, 1950, in Long Beach to Carl E. and Phyllis J. Colby. She graduated from Long Beach City College with an Associates of Arts degree and was an eligibility worker at the Nevada County Department of Social Services. She enjoyed her family, the outdoors, the ocean, shopping, sewing, reading, walking, arts and crafts, hummingbirds, dolphins and tigers.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Allen Spencer of Grass Valley; daughter, Jessica Jo Spencer of Escondido; father, Carl E. Colby of Lakewood; mother, Phyllis J. Colby of Lakewood; and sister, Kay F. Sharp of Ithaca, N.Y.
