Military wreath-laying donations double in June
Wreaths Across America is having a special promotion this month. For every wreath sold by May 31, or postmarked by May 31 if mailed, the organization will match it. Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 1,600 locations across the United States, at sea and abroad.
This year’s Nevada County ceremony will be at noon on December 15 at St. Patrick’s Cemetery on Rough and Ready Highway. Those wishing to donate can go to http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/CA0231P and scroll to the bottom of the page to sponsor a wreath at either St. Patrick’s or Greenwood Cemetery. Another option to donate via the local Facebook page, “Wreaths Across America-Grass Valley,” click on “Learn More” and scroll to the bottom of the page to donate. Donations can also be made bay calling 530-210-1941, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or mailing a check to Bonnie Magnetti, 22627 Sunset Ridge Dr. Auburn, CA 95602. This year the Nevada County organization is concentrating on finding the graves of veterans in the two cemeteries whose headstones do not have any indication of military service, so that they may be honored as well. This will require more wreaths than in past years.
Wreaths Across America’s mission touches the lives of thousands of school, scout, civic and religious groups across the country through fundraising for wreath sponsorships. These groups help to reach the goal of placing a wreath on each hero’s grave.
