Mildred Kiley

Services for Mildred M. Kiley of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park in Camarillo.

Mrs. Kiley died Saturday, Dec. 21, in Grass Valley. She was 91.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1910, in Porter, Minn., to Gustave and Caroline Miller. She graduated from St. Olaf University in 1932. She came to California during World War II. She married Roger J. Kiley on July 11, 1942, in Los Angeles, and they settled in Bakersfield after the war. In 1957, they moved to the San Fernando Valley and retired to Camarillo in 1969. She moved to Grass Valley in 2000. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Lutheran Church, Womens Club, PTA and the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed reading and traveling.

She is survived by her daughters Carol Pepitone of Valley Stream, N.Y., and Mary Kiley Abreu of Grass Valley; son, Tim Kiley of Junction City, Ore.; sister, Gladys Miller of Iron Mountain, Mich.; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Kiley, in 1984; and sisters Laura Miller in 2001 and Effie Petas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
