MICHAEL ROBERTS

Michael A. Roberts died July 2 in Nevada City. He was 82.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m., July 9, at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City. Graveside services will follow at noon at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Burial will take place at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Mr. Roberts was born March 17, 1926, in Redlands to Edwin Roberts and Elizabeth Garrechs. He graduated from Redlands High School and attended Chaffey Junior College. He served as a Machinist Mate 3 C, Heavy Equipment, for two years with Seabees, U.S. Navy. He was married on June 14, 1946, in Fontana.



Mr. Roberts was employed by the U.S. Forest Service from June 1943 until March 1981. He worked for Durham Transportation for 10 years. He loved to fish and travel and enjoyed bowling and youth baseball.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his sons Jimmy Roberts of Baker City, Ore., Stephen Roberts of Yucaipa, and John Roberts of Grass Valley; his companion, Myra Taylor of Nevada City; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.




He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine, and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
