Michael Batchkoff

Services for Michael John “Mickey” Batchkoff of Grass Valley will be conducted at a later date.

Mr. Batchkoff died Thursday, Nov. 7, at home. He was 72.

He was born Nov. 21, 1929, in Los Angeles, where he was raised and attended school. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1954 in Korea. He was a B-26 gunner and survived a crash landing. He married Elaine Halopoff on Oct. 23, 1955, in Los Angeles.

He was a foreman for Cal-Air Conditioning in Whittier for 32 years. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Batchkoff of Grass Valley; daughters Rachel Garten of Grass Valley and Karen Lovejoy of Yucca Valley; son, Michael Batchkoff of Land-O-Lakes, Fla.; brother, John Batchkoff; mother-in-law, Vera Kisseloff of Auburn; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
