Memorial planned for Theals

Friends of Ted and Carrie Theal, the Nevada City couple found dead in their home on Oak Ridge Road Feb. 20, say they will hold a memorial celebration Sunday to make some sense of the tragic and unexpected murder-suicide.

“It will be a time to lean on each other, a time for healing,” said Ingrid Carter, a friend of the Theals and co-owner of Grass Valley Florist, where the gathering will be held at 2 p.m.

Sunday’s gathering will be a combined service and celebration of the couples’ life, where friends are encouraged to bring their restored classic hot-rods, a passion of the Theals.

The Theals have both been cremated, according to their friends, who want to put the painful tragedy behind them.
