Mel Prowse

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at Abundant Life Community Church, 10795 Alta St., Grass Valley, for Mel Prowse. Mr. Prowse passed away June 12 from a sudden heart attack. He was 67.

Mr. Prowse was born Dec. 26, 1939, in Nevada City. He served honorably in the aviation department of the United States Navy and graduated from California State University, Sacramento.

Mr. Prowse taught and coached in the Sacramento area for more than 15 years and was dearly loved by parents and students alike.



He is survived by his mother, Eva Prowse, 92; sister, Lynn Griffin; nephew, Bryan Griffin; and niece, Charisse Snyder, and her three children.

Numerous relatives and friends hold fond memories of Mr. Prowse in their hearts. They request that Mr. Prowse’s life be celebrated by spreading education and exhibiting Christ-like patience.
