Medicine Man to entertain at Bistro

Are you yearning for a time before cell phones, the Internet and freeways, an era when the Medicine Man came to town to bring fantastic stories and songs that brought tears and laughter to his adoring audiences? Summertyme Bistro presents The Medicine Man, who will bring you a taste of bygone times.

Armed only with a stool, a banjo and a hat rack, this country gentleman, straight out of our Gold Rush period, mixes songs, tales and yarns in a grand mix of the wisdom of Will Rogers with the romantic vision of the Music Man. His characters include a gold miner, railroad pioneer and, of course, the song and dance man.

All this also comes with a barbecue chicken dinner, complete with homemade-style coleslaw, country potatoes and fresh strawberry cheesecake.

This event, part of a series, is put on by the Gold Country Community/Senior Center as a fundraiser benefit for the Meals on Wheels Program and Recreation Activities Programs offered at the center. Reservations are requested; call 273-4961.
