Measure G supported

Measure G, the local Sierra College bond initiative, gives western Nevada County residents the opportunity to do what we do best: take care of ourselves. The educational and technical training programs available through an expanded local Sierra College campus will provide the most important self-help tools we can offer residents of our community. For many, our local campus may be the only opportunity available for higher education or technical training.

Funds from Measure G will provide new lecture and laboratory classrooms for nurses, EMTs and firemen, as well as technology programs and an expanded list of core classes for those transferring to four-year colleges and universities.  No money will be spent on administration.  No money will be used to offset student fees.  Funds will be generated locally; funds will have local oversight and funds will be used only for our own campus.

In a politically charged election, this is one ballot measure upon which we can all unite. It is by our community, for our community ” and this time, we’re the only ones with the opportunity to vote; Placer, El Dorado and Sacramento counties, with their multiple options for higher education, may not quash our vote!
