Maureen Hicks

Visitation for family and friends of Maureen L. Hicks of Nevada City will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Services will be conducted there at 2 p.m. Monday. Burial will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Hicks died Wednesday, Oct. 23, in Fairfield. She was 68.

She was born Aug. 14, 1934, in Fresno to Bob and Marie Kane. She was raised in Fresno. She married Herman Hicks.



She worked as a dental assistant, seamstress and homemaker. She was a member and past commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her children Pamela, Cherice, Clarice, Peter, Jo Ellen and Jimmy; brothers Daniel Kane and Bob Kane; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995. Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
