Mary Pjontek

Visitation for family and friends of Mary Pjontek of Grass Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City, with graveside services at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Pjontek died Thursday, Feb. 12, in Grass Valley. She was 83.

She was born Nov. 8, 1920, in Grass Valley to Angelo and Clara Scesa. She married John in 1943 in Reno. The two operated Hills Flat Glass and Paint for 40 years. She was a member of the Lady Elks and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Dave Spannagel of Penryn; brother, Steve Scesa of Nashville, Tenn.; grandsons Mark Spannagel of Penryn and John Spannagel of Irvine; nephew, Steven Scesa of Chicago; and niece, Angela Scesa of Nashville.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
