Mary Miller

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at Greenwood Memorial Chapel, San Diego, and at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at Abundant Life Community Church, Grass Valley, for Mary Kathryn Miller.

Mrs. Miller died July 1 in Grass Valley. She was 73.

She was born Feb. 2, 1934, to George Tatro and Bertha Kathryn Tatro in Detroit, Mich. She never graduated from high school, but did graduate from California State University, San Diego, in 1961. She then taught school in the San Diego Unified School District. She was named Teacher of the Year for San Diego Schools in 1982.



Mrs. Miller was active in Revival Tabernacle Church, San Diego, and in Abundant Life Community Church after moving to Grass Valley.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Owen Miller; daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn and Samuel Floyd, of Grass Valley, and Nancy and Rick Pryor, of Dixon.; grandchildren Timothy Floyd, Tamara Brown, Kimberly Moore, Darchelle Wilson, David Floyd and Bethany Stafford; and eight great-grandchildren.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
