Mary Driggers

Visitation for family and friends of Mary Annie Driggers of Rough and Ready will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Penn Valley Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Burial will be at the Green Acres Memorial Park in Bloomington.

Mrs. Driggers died Sunday, Feb. 20, in Grass Valley. She was 86.

She was born June 24, 1918, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Thomas and Ellie (Blackwell) Lewallen. She married Edwin Driggers on Aug. 2, 1932, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, camping, reading and gardening.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Driggers of Anderson; daughters Edna Mae Thomas of Apple Valley, Marilyn Sue Oveross of Penn Valley, and Susan Kay Fox of Rough and Ready; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Driggers in 1993; and daughter, Gracie Anne Yost in 2003.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 12399 Nevada City Highway, Grass Valley 95945.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
