Mary Czirkfusz

A Catholic Mass for Mary E. Czirkfusz of Nevada City will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grass Valley. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.

Mrs. Czirkfusz died Monday in Nevada City. She was 87.

She was born Feb. 19, 1917, in Chicago, Ill., to Gustav and Mary Karl. She was raised in Hungary where she lived until moving to Los Angeles in 1958 to be near her son. She married Imre Czirkfusz in Budapest in 1941. She enjoyed gardening, music, baking and her family.



She is survived by her daughter, Annamaria S. Sauer; grandchildren Kristina S. Fresk, Richard E. Keene, and Norman A. Sauer III; and great-grandchildren Mathew and Andrew Fresk, and Livia and Michael Keene. She was preceded in death by her husband, Imre Czirkfusz, in 1975; and son, Karl C. Danyi, in 1995.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
