Mary Campbell

A rosary for Mary Joan Campbell of North Columbia will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Church in North San Juan, followed by a reception at the Coughlan Ranch.

Ms. Campbell died Friday, Sept. 27, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 83.

She was born Jan. 15, 1919, in Sacramento to Jesse K. and Mary Ellen Campbell. She taught school at North Columbia Schoolhouse for several years. She was a member of St. John’s Church of North San Juan and a supporter of the local fire department. She enjoyed horses, dogs, cats and music.



She is survived by the Coughlan and Davies families of Nevada City and the Campbell and McCue families.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Parish or the American Heart Association.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
