Mary Anne Brown died July 16 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. She was 92.

Visitation will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 25, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 25, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Father Al Kaster will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Nashua, N.H., to Hipolit Stepanon and Domicelia (Poskus) Stepanon. She was a Nashua High School graduate. She married Irving W. Brown on May 4, 1946, at St. Casimir’s in Nashua, N.H.

Mrs. Brown was a retired banker. She was an award-winning seamstress, knitter and avid crocheter. She was a doll collector and enjoyed dancing, especially ballroom dancing and polka.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Cathleen Renn of Penn Valley; brother, Joseph Stepanon of Pembroke, N.H.; sister, Dorothy Carnesi of Brownsville, Texas; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irving W. Brown; brothers William Stepanon and Edward J. Stepanon, and sister, Helen S. Davis.

Memorial contributions may be made to Child Advocates of Nevada County, 531 Uren Street, Nevada City.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary in Nevada City.
