Martha Gordon

According to her wishes, no services will be held for Martha R. Gordon, who passed away March 13 in Grass Valley. She was 92.

Mrs. Gordon was born April 10, 1914, to Dollie Ann and John Robinson in Manila, Philippines.

She graduated from the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. On Jan. 1, 1939, she married Frank N. Gordon in Richmond.



Between 1956 and 1975, Mrs. Gordon was a teacher at Nevada Union High School.

She was a member of the Aurora Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star in Grass Valley and the White Shrine.




Mrs. Gordon enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, knitting, rug hooking and painting.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Sandi Gordon of Pocono Summit, Pa.; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Bob Manes of Nevada City; grandsons, Michael Manes of Sunol and David and wife, Charlene Manes; great-grandchildren, Christian, Andrew and Emily Manes of Repon; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Frank N. Gordon in 1984, as well as by her parents, brother and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
