Martha Cratsley

Martha Marie Graser Cratsley died June 12.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., July 26, at Peace Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Cratsley was born on August 23, 1909, in Faribault, Minn., to Mary and Paul Fuerstenau. She moved with her parents to Forest Grove, Mont., in 1915. She married Harry E. Graser in 1928 in Lewistown, Mont. In 1931 they moved to Concord. Upon her first husband’s death in 1959, she went to work for Concord Community Hospital. She retired in 1974.

Mrs. Cratsley moved to Grass Valley in 1976. She married George S. Cratsley in 1987. They traveled extensively during their marriage. He passed away in 1997.

Mrs. Cratsley enjoyed reading, traveling, canning, baking, keeping in touch with her family and having Christmas Eve celebrations at her home. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and of Naomi’s Circle.

Mrs. Cratsley is survived by her children Judith G. Arriaga, Harry Paul Graser, and Richard L. Graser, all of Grass Valley, and sisters Pauline Martin of Warden, Mont., and Evelyn Hughes of Centralia, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; daughter, Margaret Joyce Paul; son, Dale E. Graser and grandson Jack E. Graser.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Foothills or a charity of the donor’s choice.
