Martha Cashmore

Private graveside services for Martha Cashmore of Grass Valley will be conducted at Oakmont Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Mrs. Cashmore died Friday, May 3, at Spring Hill Manor. She was 95.

She was born Jan. 27, 1907, in Raton, N.M., to Paul and Petra (Gruele) Romero. Mrs. Cashmore was the youngest of seven children and attended schools in New Mexico. She married Augustine Padaillia in 1922, and following a divorce, she moved to Denver, where she met and married Joe D. Cashmore. They moved to the Bay Area, where they lived until his death. She moved to Grass Valley in 1993 to live with her daughter, Helene. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Richmond. She enjoyed knitting, gardening and shopping.



Mrs. Cashmore is survived by he daughter, Helene Sandoval of Grass Valley; grandchildren David Sandoval of North San Juan, Phyllis Hanania of Chico, Gary J. Sandoval of Concord, Denise A. Sandoval of Antioch, and Michelle M. Barnes of Grass Valley; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Hospice, P.O. Box 81, Nevada City 95959.




Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
