Marked improvement in clerk-recorder office because of Diaz

I just read the article in the March 18 edition of The Union, entitled Election 2010, “Flap arises over clerk candidate statement.”

If Barry Pruett did any research prior to filing for this position, he would know that Gregory Diaz stepped into the breach when the county was struggling with the position of clerk-recorder. Since Mr. Diaz has been in this role, the office has stabilized and improved its service.

Mr. Pruett’s statements are disingenuous, along with being in conflict with state election law. If I were an attorney in Nevada County, I’d be ashamed that one of my own was giving all attorneys a bad name.

Mr. Diaz, if you happen to read this letter, I’ll be volunteering to work for you in the upcoming election. Nevada County deserves better than Barry Pruett.
