April 13 Nevada County Composers Cooperative presents an evening of Meet The Composer. It is titled “Death & Taxes,” and it takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Nevada City Winery.

April 16 California Poet Laureate Al Young visits Nevada County for the day to celebrate National Poetry and National Library month. He does a presentation and book signing at The Center for the Arts in Grass Valley at 3 p.m. and a poetry reading with local poets Bill Gainer and Gail Entrekin at Madelyn Helling Library, 980 Helling Way, at 7 p.m. For more information about these free events, call (530) 265-7050.
