“Universal Tapestry,” the first in what will be a monthly singer-songwriter showcase, is set for March 21 at Center for the Arts.

Rick Kirkpatrick, Joseph Wind, Rick Baugnon and Kimberly Bass, all area musicians, will be featured at 8 p.m.

Admission is $7 at the door.

The center is at 314 W. Main St. in Grass Valley. Call 265-8794 for questions.

Poems about the spirit will be heard March 22 at the Unitarian Universalist Community of the Mountains in Grass Valley.

Poets JoAnn Anglin, Tom Goff and Nora Staklis, facilitators of a monthly poetry series at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento, will be guest readers.

An open mike session will follow; participants will have five minutes to share their spiritual poems.

The free reading is at 7 p.m. The church is at the corner of South Church and Walsh streets. For details, call Dr. John Church at 265-2240.

The 13th annual Psychic Expo will be March 23 and March 24 at Miners Foundry Cultural Center.

Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. that Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that Sunday.

Proceeds will benefit the cultural center in Nevada City. Admission is $3 per day.
