Marguerite Riley

Memorial services for Marguerite E. “Peggy” Riley of Grass Valley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the family residence. Burial will be in the family plot in Tacoma, Wash.

Mrs. Riley died Saturday, Feb. 8, in Grass Valley. She was 86.

She was born on April 15, 1916, in Seattle, Wash., to Herman and Clara (Bell) Wood. She graduated as valedictorian from high school in Bremerton, Wash., and attended one year of business school. She married Floyd A. Riley. She worked for Riley Drilling Inc. in Santa Clara and at Fairchild in Mountain View. She was a member of the Quota Club of Palo Alto and other women’s business organizations. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, the piano and growing flowers.



She is survived by her son and daughter in law, James and Jill Riley of Grass Valley; 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
