Margaret Maloney

Private services for Margaret Frances Maloney of Lake of the Pines will be conducted. Burial will be at the Cypress Lawn Cemetery in Colma.

Mrs. Maloney died Tuesday, Jan. 7, at home. She was 81.

She was born on March 6, 1921, in San Francisco, to William I. Steele and Martha I. Tumbleson. She received a bachelor of art’s degree in music from Sacramento State College. She married George S. Maloney on April 20, 1940, in Washoe County, Nev. She was a member of Mu Phi music fraternity and the U.S. Lawn Tennis Association. She held a national ranking in tennis for many years. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, was a master bridge player and also enjoyed gardening.



She is survived by her son, Gerald B. Maloney of Grass Valley; daughter Patricia L. Maloney of Vancouver and Whistler, B.C. Canada; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George S. Maloney; brother William Steele; and sister Helen Steele.




Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Foothills.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
