Margaret Hunter

Margaret Elizabeth Campbell Hunter died Thursday, April 4, at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.



In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.




Mrs. Hunter was born April 7, 1920, in Millwood, Ky., to T.E. and Cova (Bratcher) Campbell. She was one of 13 children. She married Robert Hunter in 1942, in Tarrant County, Texas.

She worked as a beautician and was a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing bridge and working for the Republican Party in Louisville, Ky., until moving to Grass Valley in 1999.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert C. and Cynthia Hunter of Nevada City; daughter Holly “Misty” Kirby of Kelso, Wash.; grandchildren Kathryn Simpson of Auburn, Ala., Holland, Morgan and Johannah Hunter of Nevada City, and John Robert and Avalon Oliver of Kelso.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels.
