Man recovering from minor injury after rollover crash

A Citrus Heights man is recovering from a minor injuries he received when he rolled his truck in the rain on Highway 49 at the Empire Road overpass.

David Snyder, 56, was driving his 1995 Dodge Dakota south on Highway 49 in the rain at about 10:55 p.m. Friday when he hit some water and hydroplaned, said CHP Officer Randy Corbett.

Snyder’s truck hit the center divide and rolled halfway onto its roof, he said. Snyder suffered a cut to his arm as he tried to get out of his truck after the accident, Corbett said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, he said.

Corbett attributed the accident to high speed in rainy conditions. Snyder was driving at about 50 miles per hour and was trying to pass a car before the crash, he said.
