Make Wolf creek a ‘natural attraction’

Recently my wife and I traveled to the coast and back and came up with a thought for Grass Valley betterment. The community needs a natural attraction that fits in with the rest of its charm, and it has a potential one flowing right through the city. Wolf Creek. If one needs an example as to what can be done with such a resource, take a walk through the beautiful park in Ashland, Ore. The development of the creek, particularly along Idaho-Maryland Road, with natural dams and flows and various flora with walkways, would provide considerable advantages for county residents as well as tourists.

• The worthless land along the creek would be put to good use.

• The land could be purchased at reasonable cost, with some quite likely donated.

• Land improved and made attractive along the creek would enhance adjacent business properties.

• Development could take place commensurate with donations and the volunteer force made available.

• From a superficial assessment of such a project it appears there would be no robust opposition to such development.

• In light of apparent hindrances to long distance travel for vacations and holiday trips in the future, local beautification of the community seems much in order.

• Many local businesses would benefit by a Wolf Creek improvement undertaking.

• Properly developed, the Wolf Creek project could provide year long recreation.
