Make it an intimate night out with jazz

If you’re a jazz lover who enjoys listening to music in a cozy ambiance, you might want to attend the Night of Intimate Jazz from 8 to 10 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at Broad Street Bistro (formerly The Wisdom Cafe) in Nevada City. Ludi Hinrichs, a local jazz musician, will sing and play the piano and trombone at the event. Tom Hannickel, shown above, is a bassist from Sacramento who will accompany him. Local music lovers may have seen Hinrichs before at festivals and street fairs in the area. Hannickel plays mostly in the valley as a first-call bassist with diverse groups such as Way out West, the Auburn Symphony and the Buddy Greco big band.
