Madeline Newfield

Services for Madeline Emma Newfield of Nevada City will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Valhalla Memorial Park in North Hollywood.

Mrs. Newfield died Friday, Aug. 30, in Grass Valley. She was 92.

She was born Sept. 24, 1909, in Salt Lake City to Frederic and Emma Klingler. She married John Newfield on Oct. 26, 1931.



She was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of the Moose Lodge. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, camping, fishing, boating and gardening.

She is survived by her daughters Viola Steingerg of Mission Hills, Jean Buerer of Nevada City and Patti Anderson-Freygang of Grass Valley; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.




She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Donald Newfield; siblings Margaret Eller, Florence Howland, Ruby Stockton, Irene Charles and Charles Klingler; and grandchildren John Cline, Darrel Anderson, Robin Newfield and Donald J. Newfield.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
