Lynda Castle

Lynda Raylene (Sanford) Castle died peacefully on Oct. 15 at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley. She was 61.

No service is planned at this time.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1948, in Auburn, Calif., to Jesse Ray and Dolores Sanford and was raised on the family cattle ranch in Nevada County.



She attended Wolf School, a one-room school house, and Pleasant Ridge Elementary School. In 1966, she graduated from Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley.

In 1977, she married Barry Castle of Downieville, Calif., and together they had two children, Jason and Lynnea.




She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Castle is survived by her son, Jason Castle; daughter, Lynnea White; grandchildren, Conner White and Mariah White; mother, Dolores Sanford; sisters, Darlean Sanford-Dominguez and Sherry Thompson; and brother, Darryl Sanford.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her father.
