Lucille Mahoney

Lucille Mahoney, 84, died Thursday, July 29, in Longview, Wash.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no services.

Mrs. Mahoney was born on Sept. 18, 1919, in Seattle, Wash. She graduated from the University of Washington earning her BA in Political Science. She worked for the Army Corps of Engineers at Fort Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska during World War II. She met and married Francis J. “Frank” Mahoney while stationed in Alaska, and they settled in Seattle, Wash. She worked for the Seattle School District for 25 years. She was a life-long supporter of the Seattle Schools and the children they served. She was also a dedicated University of Washington Husky fan, never missing a broadcast game.



She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Mary Mahoney and John Post of Nevada City; son and daughter-in-law, Bill Mahoney and Jeanette Kleppe of Longview, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Sue Stackhouse of Edmonds, Wash.; grandchildren; Sarah Mahoney of Edmonds, Wash., Steve and Laurie Mahoney of Kelso, Wash., Sean and Toni Lowery of Puyallup, Wash., and Kristy Mahoney of Los Angeles; and two great-grandchildren, Molly and Patrick of Kelso, Wash. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Mahoney in 1985; and son, Neil Mahoney in 2002.
