Louise Goodin

Graveside services for Louise H. Goodin will be conducted at 2:15 p.m. Friday at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. Services will be officiated by her son, Barry Pugh of Grass Valley.

Mrs. Goodin died Saturday, March 9, in Grass Valley. She was 84.

She was born Dec. 29, 1917, in Los Angeles to Charles and Cecil (Slingerland) Holstein.

She graduated from the New York School of Design. She enjoyed the arts and studied oil paints while living in the desert. She married Javan King Goodin Jr. in 1947. They lived in Japan during the 1950s.

She was a buyer for the Post Exchange. She moved to Grass Valley in 1989, and was baptized a Jehovah’s Witness after studying for several years.

She is survived by her children Barry Pugh, Paul Pugh, Joan Brantuas and Richard Goodin; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; sister, Kathleen Carney in 2001; son Bill; and daughter Susan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses, 25 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, NY 11201-2483.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
