LOP closes lake after members complain of rash

A number of people have complained of itching and rash-like symptoms after being exposed to lake water in Lake of the Pines, forcing an immediate lake closure Sunday.

The closure is a preventative measure according to the Lake of the Pines Association’s website http://www.lop.org/.

“The Association has made a decision to immediately close the lake due to a number of complaints from members who are experiencing itching and rash-like symptoms after exposure to the lake water. This closure is a preventative measure. As more information, lake conditions and usage can be determined, the membership will be kept up-to-date,” according to the website.
