Lola Mae Baetz

Visitation for family and friends of Lola Mae Baetz of Grass Valley will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Services will follow there at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Grass Valley.

Mrs. Baetz died Saturday, Sept. 7, in Grass Valley. She was 100.

She was born April 23, 1902, in Kaufman County, Texas, to J.H. and Alvin Hamblen. She married Roy Nathan Ricks in 1920 and then Larry Baetz in 1975. She had lived in Nevada County since 1980.



She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grass Valley. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Mother Singers in Southern California. She enjoyed playing the piano and traveling, and made trips to Russia, Germany and France.

She is survived by her son, Roy Ricks of Nevada; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1973, and her second husband in 1988.




Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Grass Valley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
