Lois Hennessy

Lois Snyder Hennessy, 98, of Grass Valley died Friday, Aug. 13.

No services will be conducted

Mrs. Hennessy was born Ethel Lois Wilke April 2, 1906, in Palestine, Texas, to Rob Wilke and Laura Callicotte. She entered the University of Washington in 1925, where she studied creative writing and journalism. She married Harold Alton Snyder in 1929 and then Douglas Hennessy in 1945. From the 1940s until her retirement in 1959, she worked as a newswriter on many newspapers in Oregon and California. She moved to Grass Valley in 1975.



She is survived by her children Thea Lowry of Novato and Gary Snyder of North Columbia; grandsons Richard Lowry, Gen Snyder and Kai Snyder; and great-granddaughter, Kiyomi Snyder.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
