Locals help tsunami telethon

Ten Nevada County residents are at the KCRA TV studios today, taking phone calls and collecting donations to help the tsunami victims as part of an all day telethon.

The money raised by the telethon is going to the American Red Cross, and the locals helping out are members of the Western Nevada County Chapter.

The telethon will continue until 11 p.m. tonight, and for more information on it, visit http://www.thekcrachannel.com or tune in to channel 3.

Additional volunteers are taking donations at the chapter’s Grass Valley location at 144 Hughes Rd., Suite G or over the phone at 272-3265.
