Yuba River meeting looks at visitor capacity

The next meeting to write a comprehensive plan for public lands along the 39-mile stretch of the South Yuba River from Spaulding Reservoir to Lake Englebright will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the L.O.V.E Building, 660 Minnie St., Condon Park in Grass Valley.

The subject of the meeting will be visitor capacity and management actions for Planning Unit 1. The remaining Management Actions will address the following recreation categories: fees, commercial/special event, park facilities, nature appreciation, water play, facilities/parking, trails, trash/sanitation. Planning Unit 1 is the area from Point Defiance to the Army Corps of Engineers’ eastern boundary. The principal recreation facilities are located at Bridgeport. Every effort will be made to complete this work at the meeting. Progress will be based on the amount of discussion each topic generates.
