While I can’t answer whether or not the national Tea Party is backed by “Freedom Works,” I implore you, Ms. Cook, to find something less hackneyed to write about.

Now, if you look up the Web site for “Freedom Works,” you’ll find that they have goals very similar to those of the Tea Party. This does not offend me. What offends me is a health care bill that has paid off unions, coerced our representatives and senators to sell their ethics and take taxpayers’ money for special uses in their own states. I am offended by the 8,600 separate pieces of pork in this bill when our president made a special vow to do away with this practice. I am offended that Pelosi and Reid railroaded this bill through with no apparent consideration of the costs to our children and grandchildren. I am offended that Al Gore has co-opted science for a generation of children.

We have issues going on that threaten our very way of life, and you are worried about who backs the Tea Party? What a waste of energy and a misdirect of attention during probably the most defining time of our lives.
