Worship in peace, quiet

The monthly Taize worship service is moving to the Nevada City United Methodist Church, 433 Broad Street, beginning Sunday. The service is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month.

Taize is a simple, contemplative style of worship that originated in Taize, France, more than 60 years ago. It includes readings, silent prayer and reflection, and is conducted in candlelight with the cross as the focal point. Following the service, participants may receive laying-on-of-hands healing prayer.

Designed for those who find peace and healing through quiet prayer and simple worship, Taize is a nondenominational service. For more information, contact Lynn Goodman at 273-6766 or Cynthia Schuetz at 268-0960.
