Workshop set Aug. 19 for aspiring religion writers

Grass Valley resident Janet Collins will present “Writing for Religious Markets” on Aug.19 in Auburn.

The workshop, co-led by Rev. Dr. Betsy Schwarzentraub, will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the General Gomez / Placer Arts Center, 808 Lincoln Way..

Collins is the author of five books for children and her work has appeared in five anthologies.



She has published in more than 100regional and national magazines, including the Alameda Times, Spirit-Led Writer, New Christian voices, Pockets, Christian Communicator.

Rev. Dr. Betsy Schwarzentraub, of Garden Valley, is the author of two books about stewardship and generosity.

A United Methodist minister, she has published more than 1,000 articles in the U.S. and Canada, was a newspaper religion editor, and is a contributing author in a dozen books.
