Workshop on using weed-eating goats

A workshop will be held Saturday on using goats to control the growth of weeds and brush.

The University of California Cooperative Extension will hold the workshop from 9 a.m. until noon at a small farm at 16494 Bitney Springs Road, near the intersection of Pleasant Valley Road.

“Many people moving into the area purchase undeveloped or abandoned land overgrown with brush and weeds. People tend to turn to either mechanical or chemical means of controlling the growth, (which) have little impact on regrowth,” said UC farm advisor Roger Ingram.

To preregister or for more information, call Ingram at 889-7385, 273-4563, or e-mail him at
