Wolf Creek Chalk Art Project to take shape on Earth Day

Grass Valley Charter School, Bitney College Prep High School and the Wolf Creek Community Alliance are teaming up to host the second annual chalk art project on Earth Day, April 22, in the lower parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express in downtown Grass Valley. Fourth grade and high school art and science students will use the “canvas” of the parking lot to paint (in biodegradable chalk) a picture of Wolf Creek — the hidden treasure that flows through Grass Valley. In fact, the creek flows directly below, about 8 feet beneath, the asphalt of the parking lot canvas. Stop by from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to see the project take shape as Wolf Creek comes into the light. Visit www.WolfCreekAlliance.org, email wolf@WolfCreekAlliance.org or call 530-272-2347 for information.
