Wind causes serious damage

Winds toppled a large tree on the Main Gate motorcycle compound early Sunday, Oct. 4. Six expensive machines were crushed, some total losses. Damage is well into five figures.

Who pays? The bike owners will be made whole by their insurers, who subrogate the losses to Lake Wildwood.

This is not the first time Lake Wildwood’s motorcycle phobia has resulted in five-figure payments by the Association for damaged and stolen motorcycles.

Previous claims have been obscured in the Board’s “Secret Sessions” and sealed legal actions. Our insurers may have covered them, we don’t know.

However, since Jan. 1, 2014, Lake Wildwood’s corporate strictures against motorcycles have been in violation of Sec. 4205 (a) of the Davis-Stirling Act. Insurance will not pay for damages arising from activities outside of the Law.

You and I will.
