what happens next IN BALLOT COUNTING

— Beginning Monday at 2 p.m., the Elections Office will begin running the provisional ballots approved for counting through the scanners, along with the 37 damaged ballots that were duplicated earlier by staff members.

— By noon Tuesday, the provisional and damaged ballots will have been counted and the tallies updated on the Elections Office Web site.

— Elections Office staff will then begin to hand count write-in ballots in contests with certified write-in candidates.

— Next comes the 1 percent manual tally of all ballots in one random precinct in each contest to verify the accuracy of the computerized ballot scanners.

Observers from the Bedwell and Conklin campaigns will be notified when the precinct selected from District 3 is hand counted, either late next week or early the week of Nov. 25.
