Waste Management hosts free Community Clean-Up in Nevada City Saturday

Nevada City residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free Community Clean-Up event on Saturday sponsored by Waste Management and Nevada City. This event is one of the tools used to prevent illegal dumping.

“This event is a great local opportunity for Nevada City residents to properly dispose of some of their larger items,” said Waste Management district manager Steve Cameron.

The free Community Clean-Up will be held from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Pioneer Park on 427 Nimrod St. This event is for Nevada City residents only. Two forms of identification are required: a driver’s license and a current utility bill. Customers are limited to one full-size truck (8-foot bed).

Nevada City residents can bring appliances, mattresses, upholstered furniture, computers, monitors, TVs and other electronic goods, and green waste (nothing more than 2 feet in diameter). Unacceptable items are tires and hazardous waste.

For questions on what’s eligible for free dumping or for more information on the Community Clean-Up event, call Waste Management at (530) 274-3090.
