Useless Fort Hood leaves us unprotected

Hey! What’s the point? You complain about the 86-page government report on the Fort Hood shooting and then you go and waste two columns in the paper with nothing on the tragedy or remedy, only talking about “Islam.” It was a “tragedy” and we are unprotected and our armed services should shoulder the blame.

Come on, Mr. President, Joint Chiefs of Staff and all the other military leaders, realize this is 2010 and there “are” terrorists everywhere. Why do we not allow our soldiers to carry firearms except at the main gate? Other countries allow it.

One of our grandsons is in Iraq. Yes, Iraq, and I offered to send him a personal sidearm just like the military uses. Sorry, Grandpa, they won’t let us have one unless we are on the front line. I guess none of our troops ever get killed except on the “front line.”

Sad world we live in and it looks like it isn’t going to get any better.
