Truck wreck stalls highway traffic

A cement truck overturned on Highway 174 near Colfax Monday morning, stalling traffic in both directions.

Christopher Ryan Tremewan, 21, of Grass Valley was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital after the truck he was driving turned over and slid into a guardrail in the southbound lane around 7:15 a.m.

Tremewan was walking around before he was taken to the hospital, California Highway Patrol Officer Don Weldon said. Tremewan was treated and released later that morning.

The highway, a commute corridor between Grass Valley and Colfax, was closed for between 9:55 a.m. and 10:42 a.m. while a crane righted it and a big rig tow truck removed the 50,000- to 60,000-pound truck, said Officer Greg Cassina in the Gold Run CHP office.
