Trail’s open: Bear Yuba Land Trust hosts grand opening at Black Swan Ranch

The Bear Yuba Land Trust held a grand opening of a 2-mile trail at Black Swan Ranch located in far western Nevada County along the Lower Yuba River off Mooney Flat Road. About 60 people attended the first walk around Black Swan Lake and hydraulic diggings, Saturday morning.

Black Swan Ranch, located in far western Nevada County along the Lower Yuba River off Mooney Flat Road, was the site of a Bear Yuba Land Trust grand opening of a new 2-mile trail, where about 60 people hiked around the Black Swan Lake and hydraulic diggings on Saturday morning.

The Black Swan Ranch, which is home to a wildlife-rich lake, was purchased in 2013 to become a public open space, courtesy of the Bear Yuba Land Trust and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
