Town hall meeting on Sierra’s future

Future development in the Sierra and the environmental impacts that could result are the topics of a town hall meeting next week.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday, Alliance for a Post-Petroleum Local Economy will hold a community meeting called “Growing Pains: Density or Sprawl?”

APPLE will hold the meeting at the Unitarian Chapel, 246 S. Church St., in Grass Valley.

Andy Cassano, land planner with Nevada City Engineering, will share a history of planning in Nevada County. Darin Dinsmore will discuss planning in the Sierra Nevada and Tim Frank of the Sierra Club will address planning and the environment.

For more information online, go to apple-nc.org, or call 470-8642. There is a suggested donation of $3 at the meeting.
