Taste wine like an expert

Would you like to become more knowledgeable about wine? Do you like to drink wine and wish to be more confident in your ability to describe its flavors?

This fall, Rod Byers – a certified wine educator, wine judge and The Union’s wine columnist – is offering several classes through the Sierra College Community Education Kaleidoscope program.

Classes include a fresh look at white wines on Oct. 11, and demystify wine and food pairings on Oct. 25. Seating is limited. Each three-hour class will be at the Nevada County Campus in Grass Valley.

These classes will look at wine’s components separately, then put them back together so you can see wine as a whole while still being able to identify the pieces that created it.

Pre-registration is required through Sierra College Community Education, at http://www.sccommed.org or (916) 781-6280. Classes are $39 each, with a $30 material fee.

For specific questions about the classes, contact Rod Byers at wineonpine@sbcglobal.net or (530) 913-3703.
